THE INITIAL SITUATION:

cellcentric planned to unveil the next generation of its fuel cell for heavy-duty vehicles at the 2026 Hannover Messe and commissioned us to design and produce a launch film. This was to work with and without sound and be usable both as an introduction to the stage programme and at the exhibition stand, as part of the corporate film or on social media. The challenge: the 3D rendering of the product had been available for a few months, and the physical product would differ only minimally in appearance. Specific information and figures regarding the product were yet to be announced during a technical deep dive by the speakers.

THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

Without revealing too much, the film needs to give viewers goosebumps and pique the curiosity of both laypeople and industry professionals alike. It was intended as an emotional introduction to the tightly packed stage programme and had to flow seamlessly into the unveiling ceremony on stage. The real challenge was that the film had to work without the need to shoot any new material.

THE OUTCOME:

The film emotionally connects cellcentric’s past, present and future. A brief look back at the company’s journey so far, along with its mission and vision, sets the tone. To ensure our vision of future mobility can make an impact, we have used AI to develop brand-neutral scenes and images. These images show the areas in which fuel cells can be used – and look impressive when brought to life on screen. The film concludes with the fuel cell unit itself: using a mix of 2D and 3D footage, we present the key features of the BZA375 fuel cell without revealing specific figures, whilst still building suspense.

The end result is a film that feels seamless, even though it combines many individual elements. The careful selection of transitions and the concept, thought through down to the smallest detail, ensure that nothing is left to chance. The film conveys a clear message: cellcentric moves things forward.
